Our primary responsibilities are to:
- Plan and prepare for pandemics;
- Anticipate and respond to potential emergencies caused by acts of terrorism, including Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear & Explosive;
- Develop plans to protect the citizens of Clayton County in the event of a public health emergency;
- Develop and maintain relationships with local public safety and law enforcement agencies, local public school system, day care centers, hospitals, medical providers, nursing homes, civic and faith-based organizations, businesses and others to assist us with aid to the community in the event of an emergency or disaster;
- Provide public health information related to pandemic influenza, more specifically, preparation for pandemic outbreaks and self care;
- Provide information that can assist individuals, families, and business organizations in preparing for emergencies and disasters; and
- Coordinate and manage the Clayton County public health response to emergencies and disasters.
