Public Health Liaison Program
Public Health Liaisons serve as a link between the community and the medical care community. Liaisons enhance disease surveillance, promote the use of public health programs and resources associated with emergency preparedness, and actively promote communication among public health and the broad provider communities.
What can the Public Health Liaison do for you?
- Participate in notifiable disease training and support the District Epidemiologist with disease outbreak investigation and public awareness of disease surveillance.
- Provide available public health educational resources and trainings for the community related to personal and workplace preparedness, health and safety topics and seasonal prevention tactics.
- Serve as a point of contact with local public health
- Work directly with the emergency preparedness programs to plan and implement the best tactical methods to protect the citizens of Clayton County in the event of a public health emergency, or natural or man-made disaster
- Provide outreach in the Clayton County community to build relationships with local hospital, private healthcare providers, and other key partners
Recruit medical volunteers to assist during a public health emergency and/or disaster.
Medical provider offices can add or update their practice information for our database or inquire about trainings or volunteer opportunities. Contact the Public Health Liaison via:
