Train With Us

Strengthening the Clayton County community through education, awareness of services, as well as networking through advocacy for awareness and training for emergencies and other disasters in order to minimize the negative impact of natural and man-made disasters, should such an event occur, is the mission of Emergency Preparedness.

The Emergency Preparedness Training Coordinator’s job is to coordinate education and technical assistance on relevant preparedness topics such as pandemic influenza planning, Point of Dispensing (POD), Family Preparedness, and Emergency Operations, etc.

Training is provided, along with technical assistance, in county-wide disaster drills ranging from ‘tabletop exercises,’ to ‘functional exercises,’ to ‘full-scale exercises’. In addition, training in basic emergency preparedness is offered to the following partnering organizations within Clayton County:

Individuals and/or families, along with Clayton County businesses and organizations are welcome to basic training in emergency concepts and practices at the Clayton County Board of Health, or online at www.training.fema.gov. Basic courses offered at the Clayton County Board of Health coincide with those at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
