Sexually Transmitted Infections/STI's
At the Clayton County Board of Health, we educate the community,
encourage testing and ultimately reducing the spread of sexually
transmitted diseases and infections through prevention efforts,
surveillance, testing, treatment and partner notification.
The Clayton County Board of Health offers testing and treatment
for sexually transmitted infections ( often referred to as
STD's and STI's).
There is a charge for testing and
Standard STD/STI testing includes testing for:
- Herpes (visual exam - a culture will be ordered, if
indicated. This test will be an additional fee)
- Genital Warts (visual exam)
- Trichomoniasis - (swab + microscopic exam)
Treatment for Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis and
Trichomoniasis (antibiotics) is included in the stardard STD
fee. If needed, treatment for herpes (antivirals) will be
called into a local pharmacy, and the patient will need to pay the
pharmacy directly for those medications.
