Family planning is essential to the well-being of women, men, adolescents, and the community at large. If offers individuals opportunities to plan and space their pregnancies in order to achieve personal goals and self-sufficiency.
Goals
The following goals have been developed to accomplish the mission of the Family Planning Program:
- To reduce unintended pregnancies in order to avoid the poor outcomes (health, social, and economic) related to unintended pregnancies.
- To improve birth outcomes through preconceptual health promotion.
- To promote the health of mothers by providing basic reproductive health care to women in need.
Family planning services are available in the Adult Health clinic. This clinic offers offer contraceptive counseling and pregnancy testing.
