The Office of Communications is responsible for keeping the media and public informed about all of the Clayton County Board of Health’s services, programs and activities.
The Office of Communications performs a variety of functions such as:
- Counseling on marketing and public relations strategy
- Writing and distributing press releases and public service announcements
- Arranging media interviews, news conferences and media coaching
- Coordinating photography
- Planning events from inception to completion
- Assisting in the publication process, including writing, design and production
- Coordinating marketing and advertising locally and statewide
The Office of Communications is made up of two sections, External Communications and Internal Communications.
External Communications
This section supervises all aspects of interaction between the Board of Health and the public via broadcast and print media. It is responsible for handling media inquiries and keeping the public informed about the Board of Health’s activities and programs by disseminating press releases and facilitating media interviews. This section also develops presentations and other collateral materials.
The section is made up of the following units:

- Speakers Bureau
Internal Communications
This section serves as a liaison between the Board of Health and its employees. It is responsible for creating publications, employee newsletters, annual reports and fact books as well as maintaining the Board of Health’s website. Also, this section coordinates the agency’s health awareness campaigns.
