Chapter 511-3-8
“Body Art”
The Department of Public Health proposes new rules to be located in Chapter 511-3-8, “Body Art,” pursuant to its authority under Georgia Code Sections 31-2A-6 and 31-40-5.
The purpose of the proposed rulemaking is to establish standards for individuals performing body art procedures and for the facilities in which those procedures are provided in order to ensure the health and safety of individuals performing and receiving these services.
The proposed rules have been posted to the Department’s website at https://dph.georgia.gov/regulationsrule-making. Interested persons may submit comments on these proposed revisions in writing addressed to:

Written comments must be submitted on or before January 21, 2022. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will not be a physical in-person meeting; however, oral comments may be presented via phone at a public meeting scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on January 19, 2022.

The Commissioner of Public Health will consider the proposed rules for adoption on or about January 24, 2022, to become effective on or about February 24, 2022.
